Presenting all the usual challenges of childcare development in multi-storey buildings, Springfield is also unique in that it was designed to complement the base building’s aspirations for a 5 Star Greenstar As-Built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.

This involved implementing various green building measures, not least a sophisticated facade alteration in order to achieve natural light requirements for childcare development without compromising the base build’s highly efficient external envelope.

Inside, open-plan layouts are complemented by smaller areas for intimate learning while finishes are nature-inspired and carefully selected to enhance the indoor air quality and learning environment for the children.

The project took eight months to develop and was built in 10 weeks.
