Overlooking Brisbane’s famous Storey Bridge and situated within one of the city’s most sustainable office towers, Queen Street ELC is an example of complementary, mature and respectful childcare design.

Various green initiatives were implemented to ensure the centre met its sustainability targets, all without compromising the client’s core focus of providing a functional, enriching and attractive childcare centre.

The façade of the 6 Star Green Star As-Built tower was modified to provide an outdoor space that is the envy of every childcare centre in the country. Emulating the traditional Queenslander home, a large semi-enclosed veranda wraps the floorplate, providing sun relief for the outdoor play spaces and uninterrupted views out over Brisbane River and surrounding city.

Water play, a light studio and expansive timber-lined walls and ceilings are just a few of the features of the award-winning Queen Street ELC.
