Chapel Street, South Yarra

With a development budget of $5.2m and a target of 164 licensed places, South Yarra is largest childcare that we have delivered to date.

Built within a fully trading shopping centre across three levels, South Yarra took considerable planning through all facets of the project to meet the demands of client, landlord, regulators and town planning. 

A new mezzanine and passenger lift were added to the existing layout to connect the levels, while the shopping centre’s podium balconies were transformed into an expansive play area for the high volume of children.

Internally, the centre is subtly divided into areas for different age groups through clever use of joinery, low height partitions and simulated outdoor play areas.

South Yarra is still considered the jewel in the crown of our client’s portfolio.
