Situated in the largest commercial tower of the Barangaroo urban renewal precinct, this centre is an exemplar of contemporary childcare design and operations.

Sustainability, pragmatism and the latest childhood learning philosophies were considered in cohesion at Barangaroo ELC, where every detail has been carefully planned, finessed and delivered.

Maximising the useable floorspace for both internal and external area saw Jeckra resort to a unique uninterrupted joinery wall to divide the spaces. The wall provides a clever and colourful division between the indoor and outdoor areas, but it also creates an abundance of storage, areas for documentation and quiet nooks for children to read and learn.

Sand and water play, climbing and balance features, and tactile and sensory experiences were all accommodated inside the tenancy, creating a simulated external play space for 108 children that’s useable every day of the year.

Barangaroo ELC is a great example of what true collaboration between a client and a development management team can amount to.
